Hydro Channel
The standard channel for StarterKit and AutoKit systems. Food-grade plastic, with drainage that keeps roots aerated instead of waterlogged. Grows microgreens or baby greens.
Description
Our 9"x30" grow channels are built for serious hydroponic production. They support microgreens, baby greens, leafy greens, and herbs while maintaining clean water flow and strong aeration at the root zone.
Plants anchor well, stay evenly hydrated, and develop healthier roots, which leads to tighter, more uniform growth. Harvesting is fast, contamination risk is lower, and setup stays organized whether you run one system or a full production room.
The channels are made from durable, food-safe plastic and create a clean, soil-free environment that is easy to sanitize between cycles. They hold a 9 inch (228mm) grow medium and pair perfectly with our reusable 9"x30" grow mats. They also perform well with materials like burlap or biostrate.
These channels are designed specifically for StarterKit and AutoKit systems. Each channel requires one End Cap to seal the inlet end and one Drain Cap to connect the outlet end to your plumbing. Pair with a 9"x30" reusable grow mat to complete your setup.

The channel StarterKit and AutoKit are built around
Every StarterKit and AutoKit runs 9" x 30" channels. They lift out one-handed, carry to the sink, and go back on the rack without tools. Buy singles to replace a damaged one, or ten at a time when you add a level.
Dimensions and fit
Water moves along the channel and back to the reservoir instead of sitting in a tray. Roots get oxygen, the crop gets even moisture end to end, and there is no standing water for problems to start in.
Food-grade plastic, smooth interior, and an open profile that rinses out in seconds. The channel is the part of the system you handle most, so it is built to be handled.
What you eliminate
- Standing water sitting under the root zone
- Soil in the harvest and soil in the wash water
- Scrubbing textured tray bottoms between cycles
- Dry corners and wet middles across a flat tray
- Replacing cracked single-use trays every season
Harvest weights
These are the weights the 9" x 30" channel produces across the varieties we run most. Microgreens finish in 8 to 10 days, baby greens in 16 to 17.
Yields move with seed density, water quality, and environment. Treat the numbers as a planning average rather than a promise.
What goes with it
Each channel needs an end cap at the closed end and a drain cap at the return end. The 9" x 30" channel is designed around a 9 inch (228 mm) wide grow medium.
- Reusable Grow Mat 9" x 30", cut to this channel
- Burlap and biostrate also work well
Between cycles
- Lift the mat and roots out in one piece
- Rinse the channel interior with clean water
- Sanitise on your normal schedule
- Check end caps and drain caps are seated
- Stack or rack to drain before the next fill
