Footprint only, aisles not included. You will also need room to plant, germinate, harvest and wash mats. Growing is only about half of the operation.
What runs without you
Each level of our Commercial Production Racks is watered on its own schedule, so one level can grow microgreens while the next grows baby greens. The mats hang to harvest, which cuts the time spent at the cutting table.
On the StarterKit and AutoKit, watering, lights and fans run on a schedule you set from your phone. You plant, harvest and clean the mats.
Mobile where it helps
Our Commercial Production Racks stay in place. We install them on site and train your team.
The StarterKit and AutoKit are mobile. Move them when the room changes or when you add a second one.

Every system grows on our reusable grow mats, sized to the channel: 9 x 72 in for our Commercial Production Racks, 9 x 30 in for the StarterKit and AutoKit. No soil to buy and no soil to haul out.

Which system should I start with?
Start with what you can sell. If you have accounts to supply at full commercial scale, our Commercial Production Racks are designed and installed on site by Urban Greens, with in-person training. If you have accounts to supply and want to start smaller, the AutoKit cuts your daily labor so you can scale without adding people. If you are still finding buyers, the StarterKit lets you learn the process and test your market.
How much floor space do I need?
The StarterKit and AutoKit each take up 72 x 36 inches. Our Commercial Production Racks take about 2.07 x 2.84 m with plumbing and sump, and two of them share one reservoir. Then add room for planting, germination, harvest and washing. Enter your room size in The Green Room and it shows what fits.
Can I start small and add systems later?
Yes. Add a second system when demand outgrows the first. Lay out the room you have now, then add to it in The Green Room.
What can I grow?
The StarterKit and AutoKit grow microgreens or baby greens, your choice each planting. Our Commercial Production Racks grow both at the same time, because each level is watered on its own schedule.
How long from planting to harvest?
About 10 days for most microgreens and about 18 days for baby greens. The Grow Guide lists each variety.
